Powers Resource Center and Leading for the People Launch Women’s Leadership Program
Aspiring Women Leaders Program Aimed at Closing the Gap Women in Leadership Roles

Boulder, Colo., March 1, 2016 – Powers Resource Center, a woman-owned leading talent development and leadership training company, and Leading for the People, a woman-owned company focused on change leaders making a difference, today announced that they are partnering to launch a new program called Aspiring Women Leaders, dedicated to women leaders.

Aspiring Women Leaders will nurture and strengthen women leaders through education, learning and growth, connecting with other women leaders and personal development. The program, which participants can take as an intensive 2-day workshop up to a 12-month initiative, will incorporate peer circles, self-assessments, workshops and retreats, one-on-one coaching and online tools.

“Today women hold almost 52 percent of all professional-level jobs and yet they represent only 14.6 percent of executive officers, 8.1 percent of top earners, and 4.6 percent of Fortune 500 CEOs,” said Tara Powers, principal at Powers Resource Center. “We want to close this gap. We want to help women to be leaders in all aspects of their work and life – not just in the Board Room.”

As part of this program, women leaders will learn, discuss and create customized solutions to overcome common challenges, seize opportunities and overcome situations keeping them from achieving their goals. According to Powers, this developmental learning approach has longer-lasting results than standalone training events.

“Change takes time, so this program will take women through an intensive process of self-assessment so that they can create a tangible, individual action plan,” said Powers. “This is not a quick, cookie-cutter fix but rather a systemic, long-lasting change so that women can achieve their goals.”

Seeing people take action to fulfill their potential is what truly inspires Kim Cruz, CEO and Founder of Leading for the People, and a partner in Aspiring Women Leaders. “According to the Dali Lama, the western woman will change the world. Talk won’t create that change, only unified action will,” said Cruz.

“Our Aspiring Women Leaders program will inspire women to make that change.”
